WHAT CLIENTS HAVE SAID

The work of multi-talented stylist & photographer Daria Higgins first caught our eye when she captured (so eloquently), the ambiance and pleasurable experience of dining at one of our favourite restaurants, FARRO.  

We had the opportunity to work with Daria during our Guest chef pop up series in late November, where we invited some of our favourite Chefs to come back and cook for their loyal followers in Basalt.  Daria shot FARRO, La Petite Maison and Chef Candice Philip pop-up series for us, quickly creating fresh and dynamic content.  Working in a fast paced and ever changing environment, (often at extremely short notice), Daria really captured each Chef and their own unique style of food and presentation.  

Daria was a joy to work with, she has an incredibly calm and down-to-earth approach, her talents extend well beyond just controlling the lense....often lending a hand to food styling or presentation.  Daria is a smooth operator, moving seamlessly behind the scenes to capture fleeting moments in food prep or service, without getting in the way.  Daria exudes a passion for all things food and entertainment related, and is clearly evident in the work she produces.

Food has always been part of my life for as long as i can remember, so much of my heritage is based on stories around recipes and the family tales around the food that is so special to me.

After 20 years in events that have taken me around the world, I realised that i wanted to start telling stories in a different way. And so began my journey into photography, writing and styling.

I love hearing and sharing the stories about the origin and history of food, people who have made them and what it means to people who enjoy them.

Whether the stories come from producers, chefs, cooks or families, each tale is unique.

Nothing makes me more excited than traveling to explore places and meet people who are driven by their own expression of their cultures, history and food.

Middle Eastern flavours are a passion of mine and I often play around with flavours from the region bringing them into day to day cooking.

Sumac and Tahini will save the world (in my opinion).

Daria was an absolute pleasure to work with. The shooting process was so effortless, and the resulting photos were beautiful. When working with food, drinks and restaurants, she is so comfortable and knowledgeable in her surroundings and this really shows in the final products. Thank you Daria!
